- Your exchange connection is stored encrypted, and it only allows trading, never withdrawals.
- We share data only with services that help us run Timiun, with your exchange, or when the law requires it.
- You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data at any time.
This summary helps you read the document. The full text below is what applies.
1. Who we are
[LEGAL COMPANY NAME, e.g. Timiun Technologies Limited], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“Timiun”, “we”, “us”), is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at privacy@timiun.com.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and similar laws, where they apply to you.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: full name, email address, phone number and password (stored only in a scrambled, one-way form).
- Your choices: the agents you use, your risk level, limits and notification settings.
- Messages you send us, and answers to the short quiz before real-money trading.
- Payment details, which are handled by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers.
Information from your exchange
- An access token or trade-only key that lets us place trades for you. It is stored encrypted.
- Your exchange account number, account type, currency and balance.
- Details of trades placed through Timiun and their results.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information, such as browser type, app version, pages viewed, and IP address.
- Essential cookies and similar storage, for example to keep you signed in and remember your light or dark setting.
3. Why we use it, and our legal reasons
- To provide the Service (performing our contract with you): creating your account, connecting your exchange, running your agents, showing your results, and sending you alerts about your account and trades.
- To keep you and Timiun safe (legitimate interests and legal obligations): preventing fraud and abuse, securing accounts, enforcing our Terms, and pausing agents when needed.
- To meet legal duties (legal obligation): keeping records, answering lawful requests from authorities, and tax and accounting.
- To improve Timiun (legitimate interests): understanding how the Service is used, fixing problems and improving agents, using combined or de-identified data where possible.
- To send you news and offers (your consent): only if you opt in. You can opt out at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- your exchange, to place and manage trades you have authorised;
- service providers who help us run Timiun, such as hosting, databases, email and messaging, payments, customer support and security tools. They may use the data only to provide their service to us;
- professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors, under confidentiality;
- authorities, courts or regulators, when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety and property;
- a buyer or successor, if Timiun is sold or merged. This policy will continue to protect your information.
5. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in other countries. When we transfer your information abroad, we use appropriate protections required by law, such as standard contractual clauses or transfers to countries recognised as having adequate protection.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. After you close it, we keep what we need for as long as the law requires, for example trading and payment records, usually up to 6 years, and then delete or de-identify it. Your exchange access token is deleted as soon as you disconnect your exchange or close your account.
7. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and regular reviews of our systems. Exchange connections are trade-only and cannot withdraw funds. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect any misuse.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- object to, or ask us to limit, some uses of your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- complain to your data protection authority, such as the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
To use these rights, email privacy@timiun.com. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will reply within the time the law allows.
9. Automated decisions
Agents place trades automatically, following their rules and the settings you choose. You can change those settings, pause trading, or disconnect at any time, and you can contact us if you have questions about how a trade was made.
10. Children
Timiun is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect.
